The purpose of an audit and inspection is to determine the physical condition of the aircraft interior and exterior, the maintenance status, and to confirm that all previously recorded work has been completed and confirmed via the DFP documents (Dirty Fingerprints).
When we conduct an audit and physical inspection, the first thing we check is – whose insurance is the aircraft covered by. Is it the manufacturers, operators, MROs, or owners? Once we have the answer to this question, we need to ensure that their representatives prepare the aircraft for the inspection, whether it is applying ground power, moving flying controls, or opening compartments.
