The purpose of an audit and inspection is to determine the physical condition of the aircraft interior and exterior, the maintenance status, and to confirm that all previously recorded work has been completed and confirmed via the DFP documents (Dirty Fingerprints).

When we conduct an audit and physical inspection, the first thing we check is – whose insurance is the aircraft covered by. Is it the manufacturers, operators, MROs, or owners? Once we have the answer to this question, we need to ensure that their representatives prepare the aircraft for the inspection, whether it is applying ground power, moving flying controls, or opening compartments.

Now that the compartments are opened, have the appropriate representative position the steps or platforms to allow us access. We will begin at the front of the aircraft and work rearwards, taking pictures of the various areas and installed equipment. We will have a pre-prepared document with all the items listed, so all we need to do is record the part and serial numbers of the main components, such as landing gear, APU, engines, THS actuator and the avionics equipment.

We would need full access to the manufacturer’s information, technical records, and the MPD to ensure that the aircraft and all its components are fully compliant. We would then supply a thorough and detailed report of our findings.

Our experience is unrivalled, having conducted over 600 audits for numerous major operators including British Caledonian, British Airways, and Etihad Airways. As well as leasing companies, private operators, and smaller airlines. We offer a bespoke service tailored to your project requirements and we can prepare specified documents in advance of your aircraft audit or inspection.
